A transplant to Portland from the deep South, Susan brings 24 years of experience to Alu. With a deep commitment to service principles, Susan understands how a business can enjoy success by improving every moment of guest interaction. Susan carries the principles learned in the hospitality industry throughout her career as an entrepreneur, where she continues to hone her skills in business development and operations. Susan has a passion for travel and new experiences and has always been inspired by the dedication of people to their craft. This is especially prominent in the "taste of passion" displayed in exquisite food preparations, small production wines, and hand crafted spirits at Alu.
Following an early career in finance, Sean returned to his true passion: cooking.
At La Vieille Maison in Boca Raton, he learned under the careful eye of renowned Chef Richard Ruiz, and honed his skills further at the famed Jean Georges in Manhattan.
After culinary stints in New Jersey and Cape Cod, Sean came out west to Portland in 2007 as the Sous Chef at Paley's Place.
